The *Nocturn Industries Talon* takes the proven concept of the original TANTO and builds on it with upgraded features, improved functionality, and a lightweight, durable housing. In this video, Kevin from Custom Night Vision breaks down the Talon monocular, covering its key features, controls, compatibility, and how it fits into the growing Nocturn Industries ecosystem. Designed as an evolution of the original TANTO, the Nocturn Talon adds *manual gain control, an integrated IR illuminator, and a low-battery indicator* while retaining a single CR123 battery power source. Its carbon-reinforced injection-molded polymer construction provides a rugged, lightweight platform designed for demanding night vision applications. The Talon features a simple push-button and rheostat control system. Press and hold the power button to turn the device on, rotate the control to adjust gain, and double-tap to activate the integrated infrared illuminator. An illuminated indicator ring provides information about low-battery status and IR illuminator activation. Another major advantage is the Talon's compatibility with the Nocturn Industries Raptor ecosystem. Users can configure a system around individual Talon monoculars or pair compatible components with the Raptor binocular housing for additional configuration flexibility. The Talon accepts standard PVS-14-style J-arms from major manufacturers and is compatible with a wide range of image intensifier tubes. Whether you're building a standalone monocular, setting up a dual-monocular system, or integrating night vision with thermal equipment, the Talon offers a versatile platform with plenty of capability. The Nocturn Industries Talon is available in *Black, Green, Tan, and Multicam* , with Multicam available exclusively through Custom Night Vision. *In this video:* * Nocturn Industries Talon monocular overview * Nocturn Talon vs. the original TANTO * Manual gain control * Integrated infrared illuminator * Low-battery indicator and illuminated status ring * Single CR123 battery power * Carbon-reinforced polymer housing * Push-button and rheostat controls * Image intensifier tube compatibility * PVS-14 J-arm compatibility * Nocturn Talon and Raptor ecosystem * Modular night vision configurations * Using night vision with thermal devices * Available colors, including exclusive Multicam *Shop the Nocturn Industries Talon at Custom Night Vision:* https://www.customnightvision.com/ At Custom Night Vision, we specialize in configurable night vision systems built around your needs. Nocturn Industries Talon Review | The TANTO's Successor Is Here | Custom Night Vision
The *Nocturn Industries Raptor* is a highly modular binocular night vision housing designed around durability, flexibility, and compatibility with the Nocturn ecosystem. In this video, Kevin from Custom Night Vision takes an in-depth look at the Raptor now that it is fully in production and available to customers. The Raptor accepts standard *PVS-14 optics and 18mm image intensifier tubes* , making it compatible with a wide range of tube options. Its carbon-reinforced injection-molded polymer construction provides a lightweight and extremely durable housing, backed by Nocturn Industries' lifetime warranty. One of the standout features of the Raptor is its modular pod-and-bridge design. The removable pods interface directly with the factory EGAC on 11769 tubes, eliminating the need for modifications or additional pads during assembly. The Raptor also features an updated threaded IPD stop system, integrated IR illumination, and a single-button/rheostat control. Press the control to power the system on, rotate it to adjust gain, and double-tap to activate the onboard IR illuminator. Power options include an onboard *CR123 battery* as well as remote power capability through a compact two-pin LEMO-style connection. The placement of the remote power connector is designed to minimize interference with helmet mounts and allow the pods to articulate fully. Another major advantage of the Raptor is its compatibility with the *Nocturn Industries Talon ecosystem* . The Raptor pods can be transferred to a Talon power supply, giving users the ability to configure their system as a monocular when desired. The Raptor is available in *Black, FDE, and OD Green*, with *Multicam available exclusively through Custom Night Vision* . If you're building a high-performance binocular night vision system and want a housing that offers modularity, durability, integrated controls, PVS-14 optical compatibility, and a path into the Nocturn ecosystem, the Raptor is worth taking a serious look at. *In this video:* * Nocturn Industries Raptor overview * Nocturn Raptor night vision housing * Raptor vs. other Nocturn housings * PVS-14 optics compatibility * 18mm image intensifier tube compatibility * Carbon-reinforced polymer construction * Lifetime Nocturne Industries warranty * Removable binocular pods * Factory EGAC compatibility * Updated IPD adjustment system * Integrated IR illuminator * Single-button rheostat control * CR123 onboard power * Remote battery pack capability * Compact two-pin power connection * Raptor and Talon ecosystem compatibility * Converting the Raptor/Talon system to a monocular configuration * Custom Night Vision Multicam exclusive Shop the *Nocturn Industries Raptor* and build your night vision system at Custom Night Vision: https://www.customnightvision.com/ Custom Night Vision specializes in fully customized night vision systems, including binoculars, monoculars, image intensifier tubes, housings, optics, mounts, and accessories. The new *Team Wendy Recon Tactical* is here, and it brings some major upgrades to one of the most popular bump helmet platforms in the night vision community. In this video, Kevin from Custom Night Vision takes a first look at the new Recon Tactical and compares it to the legendary Team Wendy LTP. While the LTP has been a proven lightweight and comfortable option for years, the Recon Tactical adds several features that many users have been asking Team Wendy for. The biggest change is the addition of an *ARC rail mounting system*, giving users a more universal platform for mounting helmet accessories. The Recon Tactical also features a *removable front shroud*, allowing users to replace or upgrade the shroud without replacing the entire helmet. Inside, Team Wendy has incorporated an updated suspension and padding system designed to improve comfort, ventilation, and moisture management. The Recon Tactical also retains the *Cam Fit BOA retention system*, which is especially useful when running heavier night vision setups and other helmet-mounted equipment. Other features discussed include the carbon fiber reinforcement section, hard injection-molded polymer shell, updated protective liner, removable shroud, ARC rails, and the differences between the Recon Tactical, LTP, and LTP Carbon. For night vision users looking for a lightweight non-ballistic helmet with a more modern accessory mounting system, the Team Wendy Recon Tactical could be a very compelling option. *In this video:* * Team Wendy Recon Tactical first look * Team Wendy Recon Tactical vs. LTP * ARC rail mounting system * Removable helmet shroud * Team Wendy Cam Fit BOA retention system * Updated helmet padding and suspension * Night vision helmet setup * Helmet-mounted night vision considerations * Recon Tactical protection and construction * Recon Tactical vs. LTP Carbon * Why the Recon Tactical could be a great night vision helmet Custom Night Vision will be carrying the *Team Wendy Recon Tactical* as they become available. Photonis High Gain white phosphor intensifier tubes are back at Custom Night Vision. In this video, we take a closer look at the *Photonis High Gain image intensifier tube* , including what makes the High Gain version different from standard Photonis tubes and where these tubes fit into the night vision market. The standard Photonis tubes we've carried typically offer around *10,000 lux of luminance gain* , while the High Gain tubes are set between approximately *24,000 and 28,000* , with many of the tubes falling in the 25,000–26,000 range. The High Gain tubes also typically offer slightly higher signal-to-noise performance. These are still *Gen 2 image intensifier tubes* , but their increased gain gives them performance characteristics that can make them particularly interesting for users operating in environments with more ambient light while still wanting additional capability as conditions become darker. Custom Night Vision currently has *Photonis High Gain white phosphor tubes available* , including both *single intensifier tubes and matched sets* . Availability of Photonis tubes can vary, so if you've been waiting for a quality set of Photonis tubes, now is a good time to check what's currently available. Visit Custom Night Vision to view current tube inventory, specifications, photos, pricing, and available configurations: https://www.customnightvision.com Whether you're building a new night vision system, upgrading an existing device, or looking for a matched set of Photonis tubes, check out the current *Photonis High Gain* inventory at Custom Night Vision. #Photonis #PhotonisHighGain #NightVision #NightVisionTubes #ImageIntensifier #WhitePhosphor #Gen2NightVision #NightVisionTechnology #CustomNightVision
